Atlantic Shrimpers Limited (ASL) owns and operates the modern seafood retail outlets by the store name THE FISH SHOP.
THE FISH SHOP seeks to be a one-stop shopping destination for meeting all seafood needs with wide selection of seafood to offer. Since the inception about a two decades ago, THE FISH SHOP has grown into a trusted & well-established shopping destination for seafood lovers.
Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd is a producer & exporter of the premium PRIM7*STARS brand of sea frozen products from Nigeria; and is arguably considered the largest fishing company in West Africa, having a fleet of 72 freezer trawlers.
At the Fishing Terminal Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd also has dry dock, cold stores, bunker, workshops, Processing factory as well as in-house Laboratory.
With over 1300 employees, the company exports close to 3500 metric tons of high value PRIM7*STARS brand of Seafood every year and provide over 5000 metric tons of fin-fish to the Nigerian Populace.
All the trawlers of Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd are EU approved with modern on board production facilities exploiting technological excellence comparable to prevailing global standards.
Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd has a Shrimp Farm, spread across 160 hectare of the area located at Badagry, Lagos. It is a pioneer project, the first of its kind in the West African Region. Our Shrimp Farm is vertically integrated farm with hatchery, grow-out ponds and processing facility located at the same time.
Shrimp Hatchery With Capacity of 50 million PL/annum. Shrimp seeds are produced from PCR Screened virus free brood stock to ensure their quality and continued freedom from contamination and or diseases.
Farm
With total water spread area of 700,000 Sq. meter, consisting one hundred number of grow out pond with size of 0.7 hectare each. All the pond, drain canals and reservoirs are HDPE lined to avoid vertical & horizontal contamination and to produce eco-friendly Shrimps.
Processing Plant: The ultra-modern processing facility with state of the art equipment is aimed at providing seafood products at its best quality. Through strict quality control guidelines we ensure product quality, extreme hygiene at workplace and food safety of our products.
As a result of our total commitment to sustainability and traceability, we are well equipped to compete in the global market with guaranteed high quality products.
Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd is also proud to be certified with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification – yet another first amongst the fishing companies here in Nigeria, proving its continuous commitment to the industry and to the consumers.
Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd is also certified with BRC which is an internationally recognized mark of food safety and quality. Certification is achieved by undertaking a third-party audit against Standard requirements by an accredited certification Body (CB)
Atlantic Shrimpers Ltd is also certified with IFS (International Featured Standards), a benchmarked standard for auditing food safety and quality of processes and products of food manufacturers.
The company is actively working with regulatory bodies in protecting the oceans’ environment as well as minimizing the industrial impact on the ecosystem. The company contributes to the development of sustainable seafood by using Turtle Excluder Device, BRD in the fish nets, thus avoiding accidental by-catch.
We can say with conviction that we have the competencies to provide the customers a quality seafood product in an environmentally responsible, cost effective manner from the relatively unpolluted rich West African waters.
“Quality through assurance” is put in practice, by a system of direct and constant control at every stage of operations, resulting in seafood of consistently superior quality. All products are produced, adhering to proper GMP, SSOP and HACCP principles. Utmost care is taken to maintain the freshness of the catch.
All products are wild caught, processed & packed in duplex cartons, frozen onboard in Semi-IQF form. The main products are Head on White, Head On wild Tiger and Head on Brown.
